90% of the board is basically the entire origin of the demon Eclipso from DC Comics, who is imprisoned in a crystal, the Heart of Darkness, which was mined on planet Apokolips and sent to Earth on Diablo Island.
The symbols across the board are also related to Eclipso.
Across the top is information pertaining to the Eclipso’s sucessor, The Spectre, whose future host, Jim Corrigan, John met in episode Ep. 5
