I posted this on my Constantine fan blog but forgot to cross-post it here. There’s a (dead) fanfic which dealt with John being transported to the Harry Potter universe. It’s extremely well written IMO, and hilarious because well, wands and certain other incantations and such.
Before I get to uploading or identifying the spells in Arrow 4×05 whenever I can, I’d like to say this:
In the time I’ve started this blog up, I’ve received numerous strange/stupid messages or asks. I’ve been told by monotheists that believing in this (whatever “this” is) or starting/running this blog was a sin and that I’d be judged for it (if my husband who’s a Muslim is perfectly happy with and supportive of me and this blog, then I’m sorry, but what?), by people sending in random things that don’t make sense, and whatever else. I used to answer those privately or delete them because of sheer ridiculity but I’m now making it a habit to answer or publish all asks I get.
Funnily enough, the ratio of these stupid asks to genuine or friendly asks or messages is about 8:2. I’m not entirely sure why.
So, if I get cranky about being pushed to update, or get cranky about answering/reading asks or messages, this is probably why. I’m going to do my best to figure out what’s just normal text-speech without stupidity involved, but the internet and text alone don’t lend themselves to understanding nuances very easily.
From an actual street mage… you’re doing a fine job. Keep it up!
And Salaam to your husband.
Thank you for your kind words, @catvincent. It’s nice to hear that.
I showed my husband your reply and he smiled and says ‘Salaam’ to you too.
You and your blog are awesome. Screw those guys.
And you can start answering those dumbass questions publicly, if you like. We can join in; it’s free entertainment. 🙂
I agree on the publishing asks publicly thing. If it’s a genuine ask then we can all help or get information (and that’s good), and if it’s a ridiculous one, I guess all of you can enjoy the idiocy of it as well. Lol.
Thanks for your words. 🙂
I love this blog! “Some monotheists” can sit in syrup.
I didn’t want to ‘name names’ since I know not every monotheist (or well, person, really) is like that. So I deliberately generalized it.
I like your choice of insult though. Lol. Okay if I adopt it? 😀

graycloak – In case my reply didn’t get through, I’m thankful for the thoughts you’ve given on the occult spells and such. The most recent one was very helpful as well.
Oh-kay, while I’ve pretty much rolled with most of the (stupid) updates Tumblr has come up with over the years, this one irks me to no end because it’s way more counter-intuitive than a lot of crap they’ve come up with. I’m thinking of jumping ship and changing platforms.
Anyone has recommendations on other sites like Tumblr with potentially the same or an increasing number of users?
I’ll be leaving this blog here as an archive but am thinking of porting the entries over to any other more user-friendly platform. Although, if I don’t move in the end, I’ll still continue updating anyway.
I’m still going through ‘A whole world out there’ and video clipping the spells used, but I’m also replying to various comments.
With these new Tumblr changes though, I see that the URL of the person I’m reply to doesn’t show up in the reply tags any longer. I’ve no idea what changes Tumblr is making, but you probably need to check your notes and not notifications for any replies on threads or something.
